The Women of Pockets of DreamsThe Women of Pockets of Dreams

The women who created Pockets of Dreams have a heart for children and women. Knowing that we cannot help every child ourselves, we seek to support other women, so they, in turn, can help children in their homes and communities. To achieve this, we provide grants to women in developing countries to expand their own sewing businesses. Since beginning in 2006, Pockets of Dreams dressed an entire school of girls in the rural area of Kiryagonja, Uganda and gave grants to seamstresses in Kampala, Uganda.
I am a princess of the Most High King. I’m married to my husband, Joe, who always supports me in all my endeavors. We have been married for 26 wonderful years, and I know the best is yet to come. I am the proud mother of two lovely, amazing godly daughters and ‘bonus mom’ to two very fine young men. Being a founder and partner of Pockets of Dreams is a dream come true for me.
I am an amazing woman often hiding incognito as an average wife and mother but when I am passionate about something, nothing gets in my way. I desire above all to see the miraculous. . .you know the things that you hear about only happening in Africa or in ancient texts. My husband, three grown children and pre-teen daughter keep my life full and my feet on the ground. Pockets of Dreams challenges me in more ways that I could ever imagine. . . but as I grow, women and children I may never meet are given a stronger life line than ever before. As my daughter would say, "That's cool, Mom!".
Above all, I am in love with God and find myself thinking about Him nearly all the time. I am also in love with my wonderful husband on whom I can always depend upon. He has extraordinary insight and wisdom, and is an amazing cook! My three children are grown or nearly grown and they remind me of warm puppies whenever we’re together. I also have two children through my second marriage, as well as two adorable grandchildren. What I love most about Pockets of Dreams is the chance to make life better for women and children whom God loves so dearly, and so do I.

I am an Imagine-er, imagining a better world, who believes and lives knowing that my life makes a difference in ways I can see and far more that I may never know. I love working with people of different cultures and beliefs, learning to maneuver in their worlds while staying true to my own. I am the proud wife of a pilot – a man who optimistically decided he wanted to fly after watching a plane crash when he was only 4. I am a proud ‘bonus’ mom to a remarkable daughter and son and a way-too-young grandma to a sassy little girl. I am also a ‘doggie’ mom to Levi, the world’s best
Chihuahua, and Bebe, a Yorkie who moves incessantly in circles. Someday I hope to give birth to someone who looks like me. I hear God all the time and believe that you can too – nothing beats the sound of His laugh -- He is so irreverent.
